Ultime album de Serpent Column, Kathodos est une perle rare de black metal. Ce qui saute aux yeux, c'est le soin apportรฉ ร la dimension technique : Theophonos crรฉรฉ un ensemble d'une cohรฉsion parfaite et utilise des jeux d'รฉchos avec des riffs dรฉvastateurs qui vont et reviennent de maniรจre diffรฉrente ("Kathodos"/"Anodos", premiรจre et septiรจme pistes, etc.). Cet album est en somme un moyen de nous enfermer dans un palais des glaces sur lequel Theophonos tire ร coups de boulets de canons. Insane !

Dans Invicta, Theophonos reprend une formule qu'il maรฎtrise bien : un black metal furieux s'inspirant de thรจmes antiques grecs qui aura vite fait de perdre la personne inattentive. Mais en mรชme temps, il sait comment changer cette formule โ et il ne fait vraiment pas semblant โ puisque cet album est en grande partie instrumental. Theophonos, en vrai virtuose, a l'audace de crรฉer une ouverture de 14 minutes qui passe comme un ouragan. Comme quoi, le titre de l'album ne ment pas : il est invaincu.
